Covenant Promotions Acceptable Use Policy

Section 1 - General Conduct

  1. Covenant Promotions services may only be used for lawful purposes. Transmission, distribution, or storage of any information, data or material in violation of United States or state regulation or law, or by the common law, is prohibited. This includes, but is not limited to, material protected by copyright, trademark, trade secret, or any other statute. Covenant Promotions reserves the right to remove such illegal material from its servers.
  2. The customer is responsible for keeping his billing data with Covenant Promotions up-to-date and accurate. Furnishing false data on the signup form, contract, or online application, including fraudulent use of credit card numbers, is grounds for immediate termination, and may subject the offender to civil or criminal liability.
  3. The customer agrees to hold Covenant Promotions harmless for any damages or losses that may arise out of the inability to connect to the Internet through Covenant Promotions. This includes, but is not limited to, the loss of or the destruction of data, hardware, software, records, and/or information. The user is responsible for the safety, reliability, and accuracy of data and/or software retrieved from the Internet.

Section 2 - System and Network Security

  1. Customers may not attempt to circumvent user authentication or security of any host, network, or account ("cracking"). This includes, but is not limited to, accessing data not intended for the Customer, logging into a server or account the Customer is not expressly authorized to access, or probing the security of other networks.
  2. Customers may not attempt to interfere with service to any user, host, or network ("denial of service attacks"). This includes, but is not limited to, "flooding" of networks, deliberate attempts to overload a service, and attempts to "crash" a host.
  3. Customers may not use any kind of program/script/command, or send messages of any kind, designed to interfere with a user's terminal session, via any means, locally or by the Internet.

Section 3 - Email and/or Usenet

  1. Customers are explicitly prohibited from sending unsolicited bulk mail messages ("junk mail" or "spam"). This includes, but is not limited to, bulk-mailing of commercial advertising, informational announcements, and political tracts. Such material may only be sent to those who have explicitly requested it.
  2. Malicious email, including but not limited to "mailbombing" (flooding a user or site with very large or numerous pieces of email), is prohibited.
  3. Forging of header information is not permitted.
  4. Covenant Promotions accounts or services may not be used to collect replies to messages sent from another Internet Service Provider, where those messages violate this Acceptable Use Policy or the Acceptable Use Policy of the other provider.

Section 4 - Limitations of Dial-up Service

  1. Online sessions will automatically terminated after ten (10) minutes of consecutive inactivity. Inactivity is defined as less than 500 bytes of data transferred between User's modem and the Covenant Promotions service.
  2. Online sessions may be terminated after five (5) hours of consecutive access time, regardless of data transferred during such specific online session.
  3. User understands they cannot log back onto their account for a time period of up to one (1) minute following the termination of their previous online session, regardless of the reason for the previous session's termination.
  4. User agrees to not use the service as a dedicated connection. A dedicated connection is defined as being logged in to your account an average of 16 or more hours a day.

Section 5 - Enforcement

  1. Covenant Promotions Internet Access is intended for legal use only. The violation of any law may result in the immediate termination of the customer's account, and Covenant Promotions will fully cooperate with any law enforcement agency. Covenant Promotions also reserves the right to hold customers liable for damages done to Covenant Promotions services and/or accounts. We do utilize caller ID on our radius authentication servers to identify the phone line used to access our services.

Section 6 - Miscellaneous

  1. Covenant Promotions reserves the right to change or update the terms and conditions for Internet access, any other policy, or practice at any time without notice or warning. Any changes or updates will be effective immediately upon posting.
